The Purpose

The purpose of this site is to provide a quick professional development tutorial for teachers that will allow them to teach students how to publish their photos on the internet and make them easily accessible to others to incorporate into their media projects.

I believe that it is important for students to learn not only how to legally incorporate photos found on the internet into their projects, but to also produce high-value photos available for others to legally use. I express this with the tag line “Fair Use: means giving back too”.

The focus of this tutorial will be to explain an easy “how-to” method for accomplishing this from start to finish. The information is accurate and complete but not inclusive of the many different methods of doing this. Just one method which is very easy and works.

Studies have shown that “Giving Back” to others benefits the giver as much, if not more than the recipient. It allows the student to develop new skills, grow as a person, boost self-esteem, provide a sense of belonging and being needed, gain a new perspective, and make new social connections.

These are all important aspects in a student’s development. It is important to provide students opportunities to experience this while they are young so they know the value of incorporating giving into their normal lifestyle.
